This page will use some articles related to the effects of the Internet based technologies on our way of interacting with each other. We will try to distinguish what are the positive and the negative impacts according to these different articles posted on the page. It is obvious that talking about social matters we may focus on the social networks platforms market that began with the idea of exchanging between friends but is now totally going far beyond this idea aiming business activites, dating, journalism etc..

Smartphones

More than socially, the smartphones has changed the way we behave. The major part of the citizens from the adolescence to the elderly have one, especially in developped and in emerging countries, . With the advancements made within the Mobile phones market, it is nowadays possible to admit that our phones are now as powerful as our computers were 8 years ago. We can do everything we are used to do with our computers as the smartphones are now connected to the internet wherever you go. It means that you can access your e-mails, check and update your social networks' status, surf the internet just with a phone in your hands. It raises the question in which extent the fact that we can do everything with our phone will lead us to be addicted to it and furthermore limit us to interact with others. To take an example, if we pay attention around us in the public transports in general it is easily noticeable that smartphones are always present.

Social networks

Another improvement that came with the growth of internet and the advancements made in technological devices such as mobile phones and tablets is the phenomenum of social networking. With Facebook and its almost instant success we saw so much new internet businesses orientated toward this social network wave. Indeed, the "fashion movement" took so much importance that we can find social networks dedicated to your work, to find a work, to date, to publish pictures or furthermore express opinions.

It is obvious that is has a very positive impact such as keeping track of your records, friends, souvenirs ... nevertheless as it takes a huge part in our everydaylife we may wonder if it is changing our behavior. Even if we can say that it is participating to the social improvement it is also changing the way we act for this improvement. Hence acting socially while having multiple accounts in different website and exchanging with others behind a technological device is still confusing. Because it is not spontaneous interaction as we are behind somtehing and we can finally make what we want of our image.

Long term changes

The social impact is one of the hottest issue while considering the changes that may brought all the internet based businesses and technologies. In the next future, we will be meant to be constantly connected to the internet and businesses are doing their job to furnish all kind of new technologies to do so.

These technological improvements have always been important for the human being as it has always been around us (greek philosophers with geometry, Newton and his physics laws, The industrial revolution). It is obvious that each period had its new technology that finally changed the life of the people whom could enjoy its benefits. Hence it changed their social behavior. Seeing the new technologies of nowadays as a threat is therefore questionnable. But it is important to underline that the actual improvement in technology is the greatest ever faced and it is redifining the way we know things, learn things and exchange. It is a huge gap between generation and people are constantly facing new technologies to adapt with but for the youngest generations we may wonder in which extent they will finally be totally stranger to what we used to know. For the better or for the worst ?
